So, once upon a Countercrawl IV, we had an interactive piece conceived by Raindawg and executed at Super Happy Fun Land. It involved live tweeting during the piece about Where We Live (hint: it’s Houston) - this is what came out of that.

COUNTERCRAWL & CONTINUUM CALL FOR ARTISTS - COUNTERCRAWL IV
The Counter CollectiveCollectiveCollective and Continuum have teamed up for Countercrawl 4, and we’re looking for exciting, entertaining, shocking, beautiful, participatory, experiential, disgusting, shocking, awe-inducing, subtle, ordinary, fantasy fulfilling and/or boring performance art for April 28!
Do you have an idea for a ground breaking action to share with others? Can you think of a unique way to interact with a large amount of cyclists? Do you have a super fun action that can happen in conjunction with some super loud awesome bands rocking all sorts of venues? LET US KNOW!
Guidelines: We are flexible and want to help you make your ideas come true, but unfortunately we have some time constrictions. We can tell you that if you desire *stage time* that pieces should ideally be ten minutes or less. We would especially love to see ‘event specific’ pieces that tap into and enhance the unique spirit of CounterCrawl! Also, because of the nature of this event, art pieces must be respectful of the venues and other art presented during CounterCrawl. You must be able and willing to clean up your mess.
We also welcome spontaneous performances throughout the day, including (but not limited to) confetti eggs, bubbles, streamers, birdsong, choral acrobatics, and impromptu haiku composition en route.
If you are interested in submitting a proposal for Countercrawl IV, please email firstname.lastname@example.org AND email@example.com
- PLEASE NOTE, THE DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS IS APRIL 16TH. -
Continuum is a social sculpture formed from the aspiration of creating safe atmosphere for each other as well as the community to grow, explore and express themselves through the medium of performance art. This group of performance artists came together in a performance art workshop facilitated by Julia Wallace in March 2011 at The Jenner House. Through the experience, they discovered ways of creating powerful performances through collaboration, participation, experimentation, documentation and encouraging feedback. www.continuumperformanceart.blogspot.com
